National Account Executives’ Role in Responding to the COVID-19 Outbreak

March 12, 2020

As COVID-19 strains medical professionals on the front lines, our supplier community must provide the enabling equipment, products & services and support required to serve this patient population.

While hospitals operate in a world of quality, safety & infection prevention each day, our success in impacting the spread of communicable diseases is largely dependent on a coordinated response.

After many years of collaborating to address and train for disasters and never events, the relationships between suppliers, IDN’s, hospitals, GPO’s, distributors, and healthcare leaders & practitioners from the communities they serve, are strong and ready for the challenge.

The coronavirus is touching all of us to varying degrees on both personal and professional fronts, and travel bans are forcing us to retreat on inspiring interpersonal interactions with customers and business partners.

During this time of uncertainty and trepidation, I encourage all of us to take inventory of our own unique approach to business and ensure that we are acting as authentic, trusted advisors to our industry peers, colleagues and providers.

Please take this opportunity to focus on listening with sincerity and compassion, and responding with an empathetic voice. As leaders and role models in our healthcare industry, it is important for us to genuinely ‘stay in the moment’ for those who need us most during this difficult time.

Throughout this period of disruption, know that ANAE is well-positioned to support its members and together, we will emerge from this pandemic stronger than ever before. Thank you for your continued support and collaboration in the interest of healthcare transformation and improvement.

Be Well,

– Scott
